Experience two of San Francisco’s most beloved attractions: Muir Woods National Monument and the San Francisco Zoo.
Your visit starts with a guided trip by coach to Muir Woods National Monument which houses some of the oldest coastal redwoods in California. The next attraction is a visit to the San Francisco Zoo. This is one of Northern California’s oldest zoos that opened in 1929 and is home to over 2000 exotic and endangered animals.
Enjoy both options in one day or visit the zoo the next day at your own leisure.
Start your experience with a scheduled day trip to Muir Woods National Monument which is just 45 minutes over the Golden Gate Bridge. Daily departures to Muir Woods National Monument are available at 9:00 a.m. (11:00 a.m., and 2:00 p.m. – Seasonal). Experience the awe and wonder as you are treated to Northern California’s signature fog, while you wander in and out of Mother Nature’s redwood alleyways. The canopy of coastal redwoods soaring above will stimulate all of your senses as you journey through a piece of ancient California history. You will never forget the crisp, fresh redwood fragrance that will surround you on your journey to the majestic Muir Woods National Monument.
Along the way back to San Francisco, enjoy a scenic drive through the waterfront town of Sausalito. Want to spend more time in Sausalito? Hop off the bus and purchase a ferry ticket to return to San Francisco at your own leisure. Otherwise, stay on-board the coach and we’ll transport you back to San Francisco.

Next, enjoy a visit to the San Francisco Zoo. Included in your package is the entrance ticket to Northern California’s beloved San Francisco Zoo which is one of the largest in Northern California and welcoming guests since 1929. San Francisco Zoo & Gardens is home to more than 2,000 exotic, endangered and rescued animals, representing more than 250 species in 100 acres of majestic and peaceful gardens nestled alongside the Pacific Ocean. An urban oasis, the San Francisco zoo features Asian and black rhinos, giraffes, big cats, apes, gorillas, monkeys, and much more, including an interactive feeding and petting zoo for kids.
